A child who walked into school holding tightly to mom or dad’s hand in September is suddenly standing confidently at the front of the room a few weeks later — leading calendar time, answering questions, helping classmates, and feeling proud of themselves. That kind of growth happens when children feel safe, loved, and encouraged to try new things. Kid’s World has been part of the Temecula community since 1976. My mother founded this school nearly 50 years ago, and I grew up watching her create a place where children always came first. Becoming Head of School felt natural to me because I believe so deeply in what she built and in the impact this school continues to have on families, generation after generation. The heart behind Kid’s World has never changed, and that foundation still guides everything we do today. Our mornings begin with the Welcome Circle, where students talk about the calendar, weather, letters, numbers, and even Spanish vocabulary in a fun, engaging way. From there, children move through hands-on learning centers including dramatic play, science, art, construction, and writing — all connected to weekly themes that make learning exciting and meaningful. Whether it’s a two-year-old learning independence in our Beginners class or a Pre-K student preparing for kindergarten readiness, every classroom is designed to meet children where they are developmentally while helping them grow with confidence. One thing families notice right away is the way our teachers connect with students. You’ll often see them kneeling down to speak at eye level, helping children feel heard, supported, and understood. That approach matters. It builds trust, confidence, and strong relationships. Learning continues outside the classroom as well through obstacle courses, scavenger hunts, yoga, and outdoor activities that tie directly into what students are learning indoors. Our students participate in opportunities with organizations like Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, and the Special Olympics because we want children to learn early that helping others matters. We also treasure the traditions that bring our families together throughout the year — from Muffins with Mom and Doughnuts with Dad to our 4th of July Parade and Week of the Young Child celebrations. Kid’s World truly becomes a second home for so many families. Many of our students continue on to Van Avery Prep, our K–8 sister school located right next door. Our Pre-K students already spend time on campus through shared activities, buddy programs, and school events, making the transition to kindergarten feel exciting and familiar.
